UCI Law Clinics Assist Former Child Slaves in U.S. Supreme Court*

Students in the University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) Civil Rights Litigation, International Human Rights Litigation and International Justice Clinics are part of the litigation team representing former child slaves before the U.S. Supreme Court in Doe v Nestle USA and Cargill, Nos 19-416 & 453. Civil Rights Litigation Clinic Director Paul Hoffman will argue these consolidated matters in the Supreme Court on December 1, 2020.

UCI Law Clinic Director David Kaye and the International Justice Clinic Establish Human Rights and Social Media Initiative with Support from Knight Foundation*

The International Justice Clinic at the University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) and Clinic Director David Kaye have been researching the models of self-regulation and multi-stakeholder governance of content moderation on digital platforms over the last year. Supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the research has led to the establishment of the Human Rights and Social Media Initiative to monitor and assess developments related to the regulation of online content moderation.
